With a super8mm camera, a guitar and a backpack, Hunter is going out there to find his family and friends and country. Everybody’s got a story. Everybody’s got a story. Everybody’s got a story. The Orchard is a documentary, a drama, a comedy, and anything else that gets a camera pointed at it.
This is sharp, dull, dark, bright, awake, dreaming and everything in between. This is American. This is human disillusionment and inspiration. The connect-the-dots and the scribbles this shape can’t contain. Here is an earth-bound body and an airborne spirit.
Hunter’s desires to rise above the muck and plunge head first into it are running parallel and conveying him all over America like the 2 sides of these American roads. His self-portrait has a backdrop that is ever-present and ever-changing. And every variation casts its colors and shadows on him.
Hunter’s soul is wayward. His stone is sent rolling and the moss flies off. A hunger for understanding and truth fuels his voyage. Somewhere, deep down, he’s beginning to suspect, this is rocket fuel. Life’s journey can be as free or as trapped as it’s perceived…this is a journey of freedom.
